The quality is definitely enveloped in this kickin' catchy masterpiece. The bouncing mainline definitely carries this track throughout giving an insatiable desire to dance. Again, the command presence is very prevalent in that bassline.

The idea of dancing, then stopping and then back to dancing really works well for what you produced this track for with minimalism. You definitely made a vast improvement fixing the repetition and created more variation progressing this danceable tune into a great climax. Again, the supporting/harmonizing synth that comes in around 1:28 really carries this track into my favorite part with those smooth pads at 1:57, which really opens this track. That short build up around 3:05 sounds much cleaner and natural feeling with the filtered/phased build up making it sound more dynamic.

Overall man, this definitely sounds 10x better than the initial release. Incredible work and one hell of a banger, Johnny!

JohnnyFrizz responds:

Thank you my man! It really means a lot coming from you! Most appreciated :)

Insane quality in the beat and crisp clarity in the mainline. That bass definitely has some weight to it creating a sort of command presence.

The idea of dancing, then stopping and then back to dancing really works well for what you produced this track for with minimalism. However, I do agree with Shawn about this track having a bit too much repetition and not really going any further in variation. The supporting/harmonizing synth that comes in around 1:28 really carries this track into my favorite part with those smooth pads at 1:57, which really opens this track. Not a big fan of that short build up around 3:05; it just felt a bit too forced sounding and a tad obnoxious. I think if you phased this build up or even filtered it, it would sound more dynamic than flat and repetitive during this section.

Overall man, this is definitely one hell of a banger, and the amount of quality and effort you poured into this is excellent. Add a little more variation to this in those more repetitive sections, and you have an outstanding dance anthem, JF!

Thanks brother! As always I really appreciate your reviews and opinions, as you well pointed out the minimalistic aspect of this track is definitely intended to keep the audience focuses on the the beat and it's pauses.

I do agree however with the build up, I believe I could definitely improve it and the filter idea is a good one, I'll definitely try it out!

I'll see what I can come up with to add a bit more variation ;)

Thanks again mah man!

That bassline is pretty sick, 1337! The build up is just as impressive. Certain parts got a little drowned out, but nothing but me nit-picking, and I know it's because of the EQing from the bass over-powering everything else. Love to hear a longer version of this. Excellent work!

Spline-1337 responds:

Thanks for the tips! I will surely keep in mind in future tracks!

Haha, nice lyrics. The chorus though... Mate, that was pretty hard to listen to, I'll admit. From the off meter and off pitched vocals, it was completely distracting. Even with the cheese factor that's supposed to be in this competition, this was just off. Maybe get a little bit of self-correcting on the vocals to smooth out that chorus from sounding so off. The timing can truly only be fixed by singing in meter. The beat and synths were on point, though. Not bad, but not that great. Just polish up that chorus, and I do believe you have a gem! 3.5/5

Agreed dude. Was happy enough with the verses but yeah, the chorus is a major let down for sure, considering it's meant to be the bit that's remembered!

Thanks for the honest feedback!

Might give it another crack down the line and see how I can fix it up. Probably the whole thing needs re-recording.

Keen to make more vocal tracks but when the time is right, and probably through more competitions as you get concrete feedback :)

Taking singing lessons but still a long road to go. I can sing Aint No Sunshine and Just The Two of Us but that's taken like 4 months of my time xD

Should be interesting to see a year or two from now. If I can catch up my vocals to the production!

Rock is a bore; Hip-Hop is a snore; Country I just ignore; Rap is like audio war; Heavy-Metal makes my ears sore; Disco should've died in '74; Electronic I love to the core. (People are going to hate me for stating this, so I won't state anymore.)
